I don’t remember mentioning this to you…but, I totally, utterly love action movies:)

My movie collection is diverse because I am in love with stories from the big screen but if I have to choose to watch a film, it will definitely be ACTION!

Today I’ve decided to stop at ‘secret and full of special effects‘ shelf and bring to you a movie that I saw recently.

What is a Kingsman?

The lowest enlisted rank in the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment of the British Army, equivalent to private in the rest of the British Army.

Might I say that the whole movie it’s in complete contrast with the word to word definition of the noun itself, which made me more curious about the story line.

Colin Firth never stops to amaze me with his talent and versatility and this role fit him like a glove.

The story revolves around a street boy called Gary, nickname Eggsy, who’s father used to work for a spy organisation with the talented and dashing agent Harry Hart. His life takes a turn for the better when he is offered a chance to enrol as a trainee in the secret service…but what will be the cost of it all?

This movie has an elegance to it that I didn’t see in a while on the big screens, everything has a delicate but deceiving facade, which makes it even more exciting to watch.

The story itself has some chapters you are probably very familiar with…son following in the father’s footsteps…the street boy prevails against all odds…the power of guilt…the underdog saves the day.

What I love about it, is the way it’s put together…obviously besides the special effects, which are absolutely great, the movie has a finesse…and it’s all down to its main character…Mr. Harry Hart.

The attitude, the perfect suit, the self-confidence…builds up the perfect english spy:)

Some call the movie a “witty satire”…”punk rock rebel”…”retro fueled fun”…

I would just say…it follows no rules and between the smiles and the calm before the storm, it’s the excellent way of spending your Sunday evening, comfortable on your sofa:)

So, take a turn and watch a different kind of spy movie…

The suit is the modern gentleman’s armour. The Kingsmen are the new knights.
