‘The Dress Edit’

“Fashion is about something that comes from within you”

Ralph Lauren

The clutch

Hello Fashion Lovers:)

This week I’ve been inspired by one single item…The Red Clutch!

…there is nothing out there that will make a clutch look more amazing than the right dress.

What is your perfect dress…that one piece in your closet that you could not live without?

For me it’s very simple…I can’t choose 🙂

I am in love with dresses…colours…patterns…style and cut…day and night…short or long and my wardrobe is full of the magic of a flower garden that every butterfly dreams about.

This Summer, dresses are definitely the one piece to have…but it’s not always easy to find that ‘Little Perfect Fit’!

Dress collection

There a two major things to consider when buying that perfect dress:

1. THE FLAWLESS SHAPE

I love dresses in general but not everything out there, is the right cut for me or for you…

Know your body shape…are you a pear or an apple…maybe full hourglass or inverted triangle, either way this will define what style you should wear.

This is where we go wrong most of the time…not everything that looks pretty on a hanger will show off our best features and that is why it’s crucial to know yourself before you show off to the world:)

Your body shape will choose the right cut…may that be an A line, a tailored or a straight cut!

Your wardrobe is there to make you feel good and look amazing…never forget that!

2. THE COLOUR THAT IS YOURS

Once you know what style is right for you…the next step is the colour that will give the dress its zest:)

What is your colour?

Sometimes what we like it’s what we should wear…but not always!

Did you know that each of us belong to a season and that decides what are the colours that will suit us best?

Your season is determined by skin, hair and eye colour; some personal stylists will only divide the choice between ‘cool’ and ‘warm’ colours but I like more options…so the season chart is my tool to settle the perfect wardrobe:)

The right shape and the perfect colour applies to all of our wardrobe…always have in the back your mind…shape and colour…this way, you will make the right buys every time:)

Splash of pink

…and sometimes you might want to get out of your comfort zone and try another season…nobody will stop you:)

The choice is always yours!

‘When Aztec met Tribal’

Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.
Oscar de la Renta

Summer Fashion 2015!

This week I’ll be introducing a new trend that is taking over our summer wardrobe…the aztec and tribal print!

Definition of aztec clothing:

Clothing for the Ancient Aztecs offered a unique take on fashion with their colourful style sense. Clothing was an expression of many things for the Aztecs, their way of living, social class, gender, their role in society, age and even religion were reflected in their clothing.

Fashion takes an exotic turn and explodes in amazing colours and prints…

Throughout the Spring of 2015 we’ve witnessed the parade of bright colours, loads of prints…and the Summer of 2015 will be a combination of the two and the rise of the shirt-dress.

I’ll be honest and say…my wardrobe is colourful but it has just a few aztec prints, which I didn’t wear in a while:)

Writing this article, today, makes me want to find that dress or that skirt and take it for a walk under the beautiful sun!

If you’re wondering how you can spot a tribal print, here are some tips:

  • Strong graphic prints
  • Warm and earthy tones
  • Safari look
  • Combination of brown, red, orange, sometimes black and white

How to wear aztec – inspired tribal prints?

That is a good question, because no matter how you build your outfit, you shouldn’t forget that the print will set the look…you will build your look around the print and the colours.

  1. Keep it Simple – tribal motifs look really good on their own, especially when we talk about a dress.
  2. Wear print with print – I know it sounds crazy, but it does work; if it’s not your style always pair it up with a plain neutral colour.
  3. Create the loved Safari look and add a leather belt or even boots
  4. Always accessorize – these prints are everywhere like on bags, scarves, jewellery – so find the right combination and wear them

I am actually very excited thinking about this infusion of prints and colours, which can possibly spice up our wardrobe considerably:)

What do you think?

Would you wear it or you’re already wearing it?
