Quote 10

Life is sometimes much more simple than we think…

I admit that there are moments when I forget how to enjoy an effortless gesture…a stranger’s smile…a friend’s hug!

Last week we talked about the anxiety of life…and as much as we don’t want to think about it…it’s there, in our every day routine, the weekend rush and the morning call.

Every now and then you meet new people who remind you that happiness does exist and it doesn’t cost a thing…all we have to do is let it happen…let it happen to us, be open and accept the simple but wonderful moments that life is giving us.

…and yes, life is not always fluffy like cotton candy and occasionally it feels like a room with four walls closing slowly around you and even if at some point you do find that window towards the sunrise or the door to a new beginning…we still hang on to the past, to the sorrow and pain that prevents us from appreciating and celebrating what’s good and beautiful in our life.

If today was a good day…why aren’t you smiling?

If you’ve reached your destination…why don’t you stop running?

If your dream came true…why are you not celebrating?

If faith is giving you a hand…why don’t you accept it?

Because the only obstacle between you and happiness is your own willingness to accept it!

Look around…and enjoy the incredible, because it’s happening to you!

When was the last time you’ve enjoyed the moment?

‘The simple things in life’

I love to take something ordinary and make it really special.” Ina Garten

FullSizeRender-3

Do you have a memory of the most tasty dish you’ve ever had?

I thought I did…until today:)

We all look for that unforgettable taste in complicated recipes…fancy restaurants…unknown ingredients.

More complex it looks, more we think it will be better than anything we ever had before…

Why is that?

We tend to treat most of the things in our life in the same manner…as it gets more tangled, as the puzzle has more pieces, we have the impression it might worth more.

So many times we look away from the most simple ingredients just because we’ve used them so many times…they are familiar so they lack the excitement… or do they?

Today I’ve put together the most basic ingredients for a salad…I won’t go into detail about the ingredients (unless you want me to) because that is not the point of this post…the result was – the most tasty turkey avocado salad I have ever had:)

…take a look today at the most simple things around you and soon you’ll realise they worth more than you’ve thought!

Complicated is born because we think the elementary is not enough…easy becomes puzzling through our attempt in finding something special, when the exceptional is actually hiding between the ordinary.

Writing 101 – Day Twenty

It’s the final day of Writing 101!

I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, learned a lot, read even more:) and connected with some amazing people!

Today’s assignment: ‘The things we treasure’ – It’s the final day of the challenge already?! Let’s make sure we end it with a bang — or, in our case, with some furious collective tapping on our keyboards. For this final assignment, lead us through the history of an object that bears a special meaning to you.

‘Hidden treasures under our feet’

Thinking about things I treasure…

Throughout our life we collect things, moments…with time they become memories, we hold on to them and turn them into treasures.

I can’t count all the objects I’ve kept and locked in the memory box…each and every piece has a sentimental value and it’s a proof of wonderful moments that I was lucky enough to be part of.

…but if I look closer, it’s not the things I treasure… it’s the memories that come with them! So, today…the last assignment for this writing challenge I will open my memory box and share with you my most-prized possession:)

“…the sun never felt so warm…it was 7 o’clock in the morning and all I could think of was him. I know we always said that today will be like any other day…we didn’t need to prove anything…we knew each others souls, we knew we belonged, but even so, today was the day we will pledge our love in front of God, our family, our amazing friends and somehow everything will become more real.

I don’t know why I’ve said that…it was real before, but it was missing something…our hearts were longing for something…the blessing.

Now, thinking back, everything it’s a blur…I have all these pictures to remind me of that day and I treasure them dearly but my soul values the vows we took…those unforgettable moments when everyone and everything is in perfect line with the Universe and the land and the sky celebrates the union of two spirits.

My heart was racing, I’ve spent the morning crying and I wondered why people say that this is the most amazing day of your life…surely I am not the only bride who feels this way on her big day?! I wasn’t crying because something was wrong…I felt flooded with all these emotions and they all came at once…happiness, love, hope, peace, relief, fear.

…walking down the ail…it’s like being in a boat, in the middle of the sea, desperately looking for land…

…but then, I saw him and my heart was filled with love, endless love…he was my light house, guiding me towards the rest of our life…”

Final note from the author:)

I was, I am and always will be in love with love…a hopeless romantic, you may say:)

The truth is that I value feelings more than anything, emotional experiences through which the world uncovers its beauty and leads us towards the unknown…the amazingly beautiful unknown, which awaits to be discovered.

The secret to uncover our destiny it’s simple…don’t walk the path alone, because together we are stronger, better and happier!

Writing 101 – Day Fourteen

I really loved today’s prompt…

Today’s assignment: ‘To Whom it May Concern’ – Pick up the nearest book and flip to page 29. What’s the first word that jumps off the page? Use this word as your springboard for inspiration. Write it in form of a letter.

Book: Paulo Coelho, ‘The Valkyries’, page 29…moments

Dear Moments,

You make me smile and you bring me tears…

But you are a big part of my life and I couldn’t imagine my days without you.

I wish sometimes I could hold on to you for longer just for comfort but then I remember that you are so precious because you’re ephemeral.

You’ve taught me so much along the years but I am sad to say that there are times when I don’t appreciate you as much as I should…maybe because you don’t always make me happy.

Why is that Moments?

Why can you just bring joy to my life without reminding me constantly that the light is followed by darkness…?

I know …I know…the darkness it’s always chased away by light!

If I am honest with myself I know that all that you are, brings balance to my life…the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, the light and the dark…it’s all connected.

From time to time, if I open my eyes, I can see how you are that invisible silver line between all of us…how you join our destinies together…how you create ties that we can’t explain…how you work with the Universe to guide us towards the light.

I often wonder if you already have a written plan or you just know where to be at the right time?

Maybe it’s better to keep that hidden…

I enjoy wondering about your ways and means…your plans, if there are any…but mostly I am happy that I can share you…

Thank you Moments:)

Yours truly,

Just a piece of your Puzzle
