‘Juice Diary’ – The Conclusion

‘The only time you should ever look back, is to see how far you’ve come.’

Juice Diary – The Finale

Most used word right now…’Wiser’!

Some of you might remember that a few months ago I’ve started a challenge based on a 28 day juice diet…if you don’t, I really don’t blame you as I have abandoned ship a little bit and took a break from blogging:)

Anyway…I do believe I owe you…my beautiful reader…an ending to my Juice Diary journey!

So here it goes…

I’ve always loved a healthy lifestyle…eating well, sleeping enough, working as much…smiling and loving life even more…but as we all know, everyone has their little secret corner of so-called ‘not so healthy’ choices.

…and you know what?

It is ok…because life is too short to miss out on those little but delicious misdeeds that make us somehow happier, even for just a blink of an eye:)

What is not acceptable…is turning those little slip-ups in brand new lifestyle choices!

To be honest, it’s very easy to trade your carrot sticks for golden crispy fries.

Would you say, you never done it?

It might happen every now and then but what you do not want to do is give up carrots all together and fill up your snack drawer with bags of crisps and sugary treats:)

I believe that following a juice plan was somehow an attempt to escape a dangerous road made out of chocolate and sprinkled with powdered sugar!

My Juice Journey was a very interesting one…

It started out as an experiment but it ended up to be a lesson for a lifetime.

I did not manage to live just on juice for 28 days…and you might say that I’ve failed, but I do not feel defeated in any shape or form:)

I’ve completed the Super Juice Me plan but with a personalised twist…because you always should stay true to yourself!

I’ve survived 14 glorious days purely just on juice and it was amazing and painful at the same time. My plan was always to make it throughout the 28 days but I really didn’t know how…

After 2 weeks of juicing my body couldn’t pull through just with juiced carrots and apples; but my eagerness of succeeding was too strong…so there was only one way out…get customising.

I thought long and hard on how can I keep having the juices but also get back into the kitchen and cook…because honestly, I think that is what I’ve missed the most…the smell of fresh herbs, the taste of beautiful ingredients put together to make something flavorful.

After two weeks of Super Juicing I’ve fallen in love with these drinks…there is nothing tastier than juiced pineapple with beetroot, banana, apples and a handful of spinach…

I’ve never thought I would ever say this…but the juice works in mysterious ways:)

Don’t get me wrong…there were some weird and questionable ones…from which my taste buds will not recover but 90% of the recipes are just something you do not want to forget.

So, I’ve come up with a plan…keep the best of both worlds…beautiful fresh juices and luscious but healthy cooked meals that will make me happier each day.

My journey towards the last 14 days was something to remember…

I’ve kept the morning and evening juices from the plan and had a light and delicious cooked lunch during the day…the best laid out plan!

I’ve mastered self-control by eating less but so much better…discovered some amazing new recipes (which I will share with you all in the upcoming weeks), made a friend for life, my Juicer:) and discovered the secret to a healthier ‘me’… less is always more!

As much as you think you will lose weight by eating less or living for 28 days on juice…these are just solutions for a second and not more.

If you want to feel better, be healthier…it’s all about moderation.

I’ve never wanted to give up chocolate cake…and I never will…but I’ve learned that with the correct fitness exercises, healthy home cooking and better choices, I never have to…

It’s just about self-discipline…what to have, when and how much!

I’ve never believed in diet plans…in starving yourself to feel or look better…because the reality is that they never truly work unless you make a real change to your entire lifestyle.

Quick, short or long and never-ending diets will only deliver a temporary result…we all know that but for some reason some of us still decide to go for it.

Some learn immediately and some don’t…sometimes later than never is better…because once you’ve realised that you do not have to give up what you love, you just have to have less of it…you own the secret for a healthier and happier you:)

That was my lesson from a simple Juice Plan…and even if I’ve stopped living just on juice:) I never stopped juicing:)

‘Tasty cuisine’

Welcome back to my secret Kitchen Corner…where I prepare delicious recipes just for you:)

2015-06-06 17.59.20-1

Today I will share with you one of my all time favourite…Chicken breast stuffed with coriander cream cheese on a bed of mushroom sauce.

I love cooking this dish because it has so many flavours and fresh herbs which makes it an absolute pleasure to all your senses:)

FullSizeRender-4-1

Ingredients: One chicken breast/person, parma ham, cream cheese, fresh coriander finely chopped, salt, pepper, rosemary and oregano, double cream, 300 g mushroom, fresh salad leaves, plum tomatoes, radish, lemon juice.

Method: Pre-heat the oven.

For the chicken breast, prepare the stuffing first by mixing the cream chess and coriander, I usually put 2 table spoons of cream cheese/ chicken breast. Cut the chicken breast on the side half way through and stuff it with the cheese paste, wrap each breast in 2 slices of parma ham.

I never put salt or pepper on the chicken, because the parma ham it’s already salty and the stuffing carries so much flavour.

Before placing the chicken in the oven I usually seal it for a couple of minutes in a non-stick hot pan with a bit of fresh rosemary and oregano.

2015-06-06 18.03.38-1

Once the parma ham is slightly crispy, place the chicken in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, preferably covered.

You can now start to prepare your mushroom sauce.

Use the same pan for the sauce, in which you’ve sealed the chicken breast, it will still have some flavour and all the herbs you’ve previously used. Add a bit of oil, place the chopped mushrooms, salt and pepper and sweat them for about 5-7 minutes.

2015-06-06 18.14.38-1

Just before removing it pour in the cream, for 300 g of mushroom you will need around 150 ml of cream.

The quantities can be changed according to the number of diners:)

Let it simmer over very low heat for about one minute…and you are ready.

To accompany this dish I prepared a light salad with plum tomatoes, radish and fresh salad leaves with a drizzle of lemon juice.

Serving suggestion:

Place the mushroom sauce first, cut the chicken breast in slices and arrange them on the bed of sauce. Create a beautiful effect with the fresh colourful salad on the side:)

I love cooking and baking as you probably already know but mostly I enjoy sharing everything I know with all of you in the hopes that you might discover something new that you’ve never tasted before:)

Welcome back to my Blogging 101, day three challenge – Say Hello to the Neighbours

I did not have to think even a minute about how I will bring to life today’s assignment…it is my absolute pleasure to dedicate my post to all of you who once upon a time stepped into my world and found it worthy of your attention…or maybe just walked on its long corridor with red walls and got tempted to open a few doors…or perhaps this is the very first time you find yourself paging through my red diary and discover a bit of inspiration:)

This is especially for you…

DSC07271_Fotor-1

Today I had the honour to meet a fellow blogger who left me a message that made me smile and feel inspired!

I can’t possibly move forward and not mention Swaroop Sadarjoshi and his blog…thank you so much for the lovely words and encouragement but especially for the creative quote:

“May your dreams be new,

Like the sky of beautiful blue“.

I’ve never in my wildest dreams, imagined that my blogging journey will be filled with so many inspirational people, extraordinary stories and talented artists…yes, I’ve called you artists…because no matter what is your intention or your message…if you express yourself through images or words…you are creating art…beautiful and eternal print of who you are!

I’ve been reading some of your comments and I feel so lucky to have so many people around me who love how I see the world, who join me and sometimes look through the same goggles as me…

You are to me, like a beautiful flower garden…colourful and unique…special and endless…inspirational and kind.

You are the reason I find myself constantly thinking, how can I inspire you…how can I draw you into my fantasy…how can I take you on a journey of discovery?

It’s been only three days into Blogging 101 and I’ve already had the pleasure to meet so many amazing bloggers, might that be beginners or well established…and you know what…I feel like my family it’s growing by the second becoming more diverse and full of creativity and personality:)

Thank you for your fantastic support…words of encouragement…likes and smiles…thank you for having great expectations…for finding that red bookmark and place it between the red pages of my blog:)

‘What about MyRedPage?’

“Red is for passion…red is for determination…red is for love.

Red is for blood…red is for fire…and red is for the rose with thorns.

…and you will find me in between”

The road towards my Red World:)

20150609_074234_20150609081017896-1-1

It’s not really a secret that my blog’s title comes from my inexplicable addiction to the colour red:)

It wasn’t a long thinking process to decide the name, all I wanted was a beginning to my new discovered world and what is better for a brand new dawn than a blank page…obviously red:)))

The header picture happened before there was any idea of a blog…and it turned red because of it:)

IMG_5541

I never thought about a tagline…maybe I should, but I like the pictures to tell you the story of the author!

I like originality and that is why I’ve taken every picture I’ve published, sometimes with changes, colour enhancements…or just a touch of me:)

This was the first picture I’ve published along a story I’ve written…Sealed by red lips, a story in four parts!

2015-02-15 12.58.14

I am proud of it because it was created entirely by me…a blank page and a lipstick:)))

It’s not a masterpiece but it’s the first step I’ve taken into this amazing journey I find myself today!

Today’s assignment – Your title and tagline

Be inspirational!

‘Hello Blogging 101’

We always need a challenge, a reason to step forward and get to know the best version of ourselves.

This month I am taking part in Blogging 101 and Photo 101…I am excited of learning new things but most of all I am eager to grow this amazing family of bloggers and discover brand new worlds:)

First assignment of Blogging 101 – “Introduce Yourself to the World”

Most of you know me really well already but I might still have a couple of things to pull out of my invisible hat:)

SONY DSC

This is me…

Your author who, just recently, felt comfortable in saying it out loud that she is a writer and that maybe someday she will have the honour to sign a book with her name on the cover:)

But until then…

I am a fashionista…I love the catwalk, the art and design and I’ve created this blog as the first step in this amazing journey of self discovery. I am in love with photography and every picture I take creates a whole new world that feeds my imagination:)

My favourite colour is Red…

It’s not just a colour to me…it’s a state of mind, “a mirror to my soul”, if you want…

Red is passion, creativity and love…but it’s also the colour of blood, fire and danger!

So here I am, caught in the middle and finding the balance quite beautiful and terribly intoxicating…

My blog it’s my own way of loving life as it is, constantly learning, dreaming and pursuing happiness!

I love baking…

The luxurious taste of dark chocolate and salty caramel…I indulge myself in sweet temptation every time I open the door to the land of endless desserts:)

Also, I am not a stranger to savoury and the beautiful flavour of herbs and spices…

Did I make you wonder? If I did, join me in my little secret ‘Kitchen Corner’ every week and discover what is that I call scrumptiously tasty!

Movie adoration…

I grew up with these amazing stories on the big screen that opened up the world of fantasy and fable but also created a fantastic collection of movies…which I am sharing with you in the hopes that it might bring to life the same emotions I’ve lived while watching them:)

Follow my short reviews that are mostly teasing my readers to go out and watch these movies:)

A little secret

I am completely, irreversibly, entirely, utterly, absolutely in love…

My Red World

Thank you for joining me on this journey and I hope that together we can go out there and paint the town red!

Paint the town red!

Love,

Julia
