‘Red Echo Date’ #6

quote 6

I do wonder sometimes if there is anyone out there…that can actually not plan, not think of planning or not be consumed by trying to control every aspect of their existence.

As simple as it might sound…it is extremely hard to let go or even just breathe! If you stop for a second and think about it, it’s silly…because you breathe every second of every minute, but the moment you have to think about it…everything becomes much harder.

Most of us are definitely organisers….head planners of our lives and we like to think we are in control of our own destiny…but are we?

When was the last time you let something in the hands of chance?

It’s not easy, isn’t it?

I’ve personally never liked to plan…I do believe that you can forge your own path and fight for what you want but at the same time there is a bigger picture behind the curtains that we don’t always see.

I don’t plan as much as I keep control over things around me…I live ‘the now’ and rarely let go to see what might happen:)

But even so I do feel the need to stop…make sure I am still breathing and trust that things will work out!

I do believe it takes more courage to step back and let the story unwind than to keep planning without knowing what might happen!

When was the last time you’ve trusted that things will happen the way they should?

Life will always be like a crystal ball…sometimes showing a clear path but most of the time open to interpretation, so take a minute and enjoy your life, trust yourself and see what happens!

At the end of the day when the sun drowns into the ocean and the stars cover the sky, we should only ask ourselves one question:

Did we live it or did we plan it?

Believe me…they are not one and the same!

  1. I can’t say I don’t plan things at all because there are certain things one has to plan.
I need to plan meals and Danny’s lunches because we go grocery shopping only once a month except for the little store down the road. I stopping planning getaways and vacations because they just don’t happen any more.
I stopped planning my life after my son died suddenly. When I moved here to Florida a few months later to marry etc….I just left it all in God’s hands. I am not even sure I consciously did that.

When I try and plan things and I still do…..It hurts when they fall through. Like At Christmas or my birthday…..
    So I just don’t plan.
Work is a different matter. I do plan things then. For both Danny and I. I have to or I would forget.
This post made me think and I liked that.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your personal experience:)
Life it’s funny sometimes…planning never really worked for me either, but as you’ve said, there are different areas in our life that we can plan and some that we need to trust that things will work out!
I think we just always try to find that balance between not planning too much and avoid disappointment and trusting but still have control over it:)

    1. I’ve learned throughout the years that making plans it’s sometimes a waste of time, when something bigger than you is already in place….I do believe in destiny but at the same time I believe that we can create our own path…sometimes it takes some letting go and taking a step back and enjoying the ride without having total control:)
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts:)
