“Fashion is about something that comes from within you”
Ralph Lauren
Hello Fashion Lovers:)
This week I’ve been inspired by one single item…The Red Clutch!
…there is nothing out there that will make a clutch look more amazing than the right dress.
What is your perfect dress…that one piece in your closet that you could not live without?
For me it’s very simple…I can’t choose š
I am in love with dresses…colours…patterns…style and cut…day and night…short or long and my wardrobe is full of the magic of a flower garden that every butterfly dreams about.
This Summer, dresses are definitely the one piece to have…but it’s not always easy to find that ‘Little Perfect Fit’!
There a two major things to consider when buying that perfect dress:
1. THE FLAWLESS SHAPE
I love dresses in general but not everything out there, is the right cut for me or for you…
Know your body shape…are you a pear or an apple…maybe full hourglass or inverted triangle, either way this will define what style you should wear.
This is where we go wrong most of the time…not everything that looks pretty on a hanger will show off our best features and that is why it’s crucial to know yourself before you show off to the world:)
Your body shape will choose the right cut…may that be an A line, a tailored or a straight cut!
Your wardrobe is there to make you feel good and look amazing…never forget that!
2. THE COLOUR THAT IS YOURS
Once you know what style is right for you…the next step is the colour that will give the dress its zest:)
What is your colour?
Sometimes what we like it’s what we should wear…but not always!
Did you know that each of us belong to a season and that decides what are the colours that will suit us best?
Your season isĀ determined by skin, hair and eye colour; some personal stylists will only divide the choice between ‘cool’ and ‘warm’ colours but I like more options…so the season chart is my tool to settle the perfect wardrobe:)
The right shape and the perfect colour applies to all of our wardrobe…always have in the back your mind…shape and colour…this way, you will make the right buys every time:)
…and sometimes you might want to get out of your comfort zone and try another season…nobody will stop you:)
The choice is always yours!
Your Fashionista,
Julia

That fuschia clutch is to die for. That’s one of my colors, besides any shade of purple.

I have swollen arthritic knees so I have taken to maxi dresses. I am glad they are in style, but sometimes struggle with not looking dowdy in them.

Red is definitely my color, but I often have a hard time finding red clothing!

That happens to me as well…red is not always in fashion and sometimes it’s difficult to find the right shade:)
But don’t give up…keep looking!

I love the images in this post. I miss high fashion living on a sailboat but have something to look forward to when I return to NYC.

I think you hit it on the head with fit & color. I find that the fit includes necessary alterations most times!! jodie

Oh, my favorite go-to dress is a solid light grey, fits like a dream and can be worn anywhere. Short little me has to keep it simple, but I try to go for classy too. And the princess seam has always been my best-fitting. Once you learn that sort of thing, stick with it!

I would hate to be without my favourite dress. It’s quite old but it’s a really good, thick cotton so I can pretty much wash and wear it. I love the colours and the floral pattern – it feels good and gets lots of compliments!

Hello, lovely to have you here…in my little fashion column:)
I love floral patterns and recently I’ve discovered that I enjoy wearing aztec print, which brings a bit of change to my wardrobe:)
