Would you defy fate?
Small things in our daily routine, like missing the bus in the morning, spilling coffee, forgetting something and turning back…we see them as chance. What if they’re not, what if everything has a higher purpose?
I’ve read a book recently that was based on the existence of Protective Angels. It is believed that each of us has someone up there constantly in our proximity, taking care of us …and every time we forget or miss something, it’s our angel trying to adjust our path, trying to prevent something negative happening.
I’ve found this idea really interesting and I’ve realized this movie was wrote on a similar ideology…
On the edge of winning a Senate seat, David Norris meets a ballerina named Elise. David learns that he is facing the agents of fate, who are trying to do everything to keep him on a predetermined path.
Creating a change in the future laid out for him, he must either accept an already written path that does not include Elise or else defy Fate to be with her.
When you make a decision, your mind is weighing options on how, when, where and what, those options are not always the right ones and when we tend to choose the wrong one, there is a glitch, a moment when a simple action gives us time to take a step back and re-think our next move. We don’t always notice this moment but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.
This movie it’s one of my favourite stories because it has some truth to it…I’ll be honest, sometimes I believe that our life was set way before we were born but it can change according to how soon we’ll realise that we have a choice…we all do…we have the ability to choose.
We don’t give ourselves always the option of choice, but that’s because it means we actually take responsibility for our life..and that is scary…to not be able to blame it on destiny if we might fail.
If you didn’t watch this movie, you should…yes, it has a bit of sci-fi but the message behind the curtain…that is, if you choose to reveal it…it’s much more meaningful!
Your destiny might be written but you still have free will to create your own path.
Enjoy movie night:)

My wife and I really enjoyed the movie – even if it was panned by critics and didn’t do so well in the theaters. We still liked it.

I’ve read reviews of movies I’ve posted about, but I don’t always agree with them…we do have our own opinions about things and I think we shouldn’t be influenced by others:)
I loved this movie no matter what the critics say:)))

I am usually not into films (I am more of a theatre guy as you might be able to tell from my blog), but your write-up makes me want to try out this film. Good writing! Wanna see more of these film write-ups soon. You got me hooked.

Thank you so much, that means a lot:)
I love writing about movies and I hope that what I see in a story reflects here in my post!
If you watch it, let me know what you’ve thought!

Sure, though I don’t have access to many films right here in Singapore. Not that many, usually only those blockbusters which barely interest me, like Transformers or Spiderman (eww). That may be why I don’t watch films also. Probably the only films I watch are musical films.
