‘Julie and Julia’

I have three good reasons to love this movie:

  • It’s all about food…lovely, tasty food…the amazing art of cooking
  • The “read between the line bit” – it’s a story that we can all find ourselves in…yes, us…all you bloggers out there, future writers that have a dream but don’t really know how to make it come true
  • …and finally, I have a saying…”Us Julia’s have to stick together” :))

As a baby blogger, that’s how I like to call myself sometimes:), I love this movie because I find myself in the story so many times…between the food lover and cake baker…the loving wife and the night-time blogger…we all have a dream… to find our purpose!

New Yorker Julie Powell (Amy Adams) starts on a daring project: she pledges to prepare all 524 recipes in Julia Childs’ cookbook, “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”, while blogging about it.

Along Julie’s story the movie plays the true tale of how Julia Child (Meryl Streep) herself conquered French cuisine, quote ” with passion, fearlessness, and plenty of butter”.

This movie it’s about love…love for the smell of melted butter…love for the un-accomplished dream…love for the person that will never leave your side…love for the life that you’ve imagined once…love for sharing the joy through taste and sweetness…love for everything that makes you hope that one day a miracle will reveal you’re purpose in this world.

So, if you never seen this movie or just heard about it once…if the excitement of opening the herbs cupboard sounds familiar …if you found yourself in front of your computer, being mocked by the empty white page looking back at you…. or if you just want to sit back and enjoy a feel-good movie…you will love this one!

Enjoy your weekend movie choice:)
