Writing 101 – Day six

Today’s assignment: ‘A Character Building Experience’ – Who’s the most interesting person (or people) you’ve met this year?

I thought about this a lot…not very easy!

So I’ve decided, today’s piece will be fiction but with a real ‘after experience sentiment’:)

‘ Inspirational…’

She looked in the mirror…the day finally arrived, her wedding day!

Everything seemed to be a dream, a sweet fantasy…and if it was, she never wanted to wake up.

Since I knew her, she was a believer…she never stopped looking for love…true love!

I remember every time she had her heart-broken, it felt like her world crumbled down in million pieces and somehow she always found the strength to put them back together.

She was an inspiration to me and to anyone who knew her…

“ Do I look beautiful? “, she asked a little bit embarrassed.

“ You never looked more radiant “

She was beautiful…

She knew that but never used it as an advantage to live an easy life.

Since she was a child, her mother always told that life it’s not an easy ride, you have to fight for what you want and despite all rules, sometimes you might find yourself on the losing team.

…and she did!

I never met a stronger person than her…’how can you stand up so many times after being pushed aside?’, I was wondering every so often.

“ Can I ask you something? “, she asked with slight fear in her voice.

“ Anything? “, I answered.

“ Do you think we are going to be happy until the end of time? “

“ What do you mean? “, I was a little bit confused by her question.

“ You know…do you believe our love will last? “

“ Do you have any doubts? “, I’ve asked surprised.

“ No, but for the first time in my life, I feel that I am giving up the power to control my happiness…my heart, my soul…they don’t belong to me anymore. “

It was the first time I’ve actually seen the real her…vulnerable but honest and I’ve realised…she was truly in love for the first time.

All those tears she lost for meaningless heart-breaks were just that…meaningless.

She deserved to be happy…to walk down the aisle and embrace her destiny…because after years of searching and always hoping, she never turned around with regret, she knew that every event in her life lead to this one…her true love.

“ It’s hard to lose control of your destiny and accept that someone else will guide you for the rest of your journey…but I always believed that any path in life needs two travellers! Together you are stronger and yes, you give up a part of you but don’t forget that he does too…”

It was an amazing day…

One of those moments that you wish it could be captured somehow for eternity…

Note from the author:

This assignment wasn’t easy at all…

I really do hope that through an extraordinary experience I brought to life an exceptional character 🙂

  1. Oh…I so love the line “I always believed that any path in life needs two travellers”. In marriage, it really takes two to tango. I’m sharing this to my FB page. Thanks 🙂
