Made it to-day 5…pleasantly surprised with myself:)
Today’s assignment: ‘Be brief’ – You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.
Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.
” I wish I could have been there for you…to hold your hand and to say that everything will be all right.
I can’t imagine the pain you must be going through right now, but I only have these words to try to ease your broken heart…You might think it will never go away but you’re wrong.
Time will heal your heart and not because you will forget, but because you’ll be able to forgive… and forgiveness will set you free.
As always I’ll be next to you in your thoughts, giving you the strength to carry on…as long as you need me I am forever yours… “
… luckily there was a return address
Dear X,
I feel like I have to answer your letter as you might have never known that your words of comfort never reached the person there were destined for. I must say that whatever happened, no matter how painful it must have been, your message was a sweet attempt of consolation. I hope that time did heal a soul and this venture of mine finds you both in better place.
Thank you for somehow reminding me that forgiveness has great power over us.
Yours truly,
Y

I love, “The Red Page.” I like how Y wrote the person regarding the letter they found. Great conclusion and decision to arrange your story the way you chose!
