Writing 101 – Day Three

…oh, this seems to be slightly harder:)

Third day’s assignment – ‘Commit to a writing practice’, write about the three most important songs in your life, what do they mean to you?

1. Stick with you…by Pussycat Dolls

He took her hand and pulled her close to his chest…she was worried more about not stepping onto her dress than anything else, it was their wedding day…

He kissed her gently on the cheeks and whispered in her ears…

‘I don’t wanna go another day,
So I’m telling you exactly what is on my mind…

Nobody gonna love me better
I must stick with you forever ‘

In one moment the world seemed to stop…it was just them, together as one…beating as one heart, thinking as one mind…wishing for eternity and never-ending love.

2. Classicby MKTO

Her long red dress turned heads as she walked along the room…she saw him from afar and smiled…

It was the first time she felt out of this world…pure happiness with no regrets! He was the one, the only one:

‘Old school chic

Like a movie star

From the silver screen…’

His heart was beating faster as she got closer, it was the same feeling every time…she looked timeless, just so classic.

3. Joyride…by Roxette

Her hair was one with the wind…and even as the car was gaining speed, she stood up and spread her arms, wishing for one second she could fly…she felt free!

He reached for her hand to pull her back to safety as she was signing as loud as she could”

 Hello, you fool

I love you…’

They both smiled…they were riders in a love game, following the stars…

Note from the author:

I’ve tried something different today…it might not be to everyone’s liking but I’ve enjoyed sharing three of my most favourite songs that have profound meaning to me…told through short, very short stories….I would go as far as to say, ‘just an unique way’:)))

As writers we push our limits, wanting more each time…

Writing 101- Day Two

…”just close your eyes and you’re there”

“She was sitting in the sand, just watching the smooth wave wash away everything around her… A few minutes ago there was an amazing sand castle made just a few steps away and in one second there was no more…”life it’s strange”, she was thinking.

‘How can a beautiful thing which takes so much effort to build, disappears in a blink of an eye?’

She spent a few minutes thinking at the ephemeral things in her life and how they never seemed to last long enough to be truly appreciated …her first love, that eventually caused her first heart-break, that pretty doll she had when she was six, broken in pieces by her brother, the painting she last saw in a gallery, which she spent half an hour looking at, trying to decide if she should buy it or not, until somebody else more decisive than her, bought it from under her nose…

Maybe some things are meant to be appreciated after they’ve gone’, the truth is we give more value to the things we lost than to those we still have…”like this beautiful sunset”, she turned and looked at the sea.

The sky was exploding in all colours of red and orange, somehow becoming one with the sea and the sun reigned over the horizon like an emperor.

The air was still somehow warm, but she could feel the water caressing her feet becoming colder and colder…it didn’t bother her as much, as she was hypnotised by the extraordinary view of the twilight.

” This is a perfect view, that I will probably remember tomorrow with a slight warmth feeling in my heart as I know I will never see one like it again”

…some beautiful moments are meant to be brief…some places are meant to be seen once…and some feelings are meant to be short-lived as the memory of them has a higher value in our souls.
